About us

The Technology Services and Solution Department is responsible for the Enterprise GIS program of the County, which based on the County's GIS Strategic Plan has extended out to external agencies as the benefits of the Plan encompass both external and internal County agencies and departments. The Enterprise GIS program goals are:

  • Planning and promoting the development of County-wide GIS aligned with the stakeholders' business needs.
  • Developing and providing access to high quality geographic information to County's customers and region's GIS users in a timely manner, and
  • Supporting the County's GIS users in the planning, development, deployment and maintenance of creative, technically sound, enterprise-wide and cost effective GIS solutions for addressing their business needs.

The Geographic Information Services Team group has taken on all those activities related to GIS data and GIS process and procedures that cross organizational boundaries.​​​​​

What we do

  • Develop and manage the GIS Strategy for implementing a sustainable County-wide GIS program
  • Communicate, coordinate and collaborate with all stakeholders, to build effective working relationships
  • Ensure that a governance framework and associated processes for inter-departmental and County-wide GIS collaboration is in place
  • Develop operating plans for the Enterprise GIS
  • Ensure that resources for the County's GIS program are identified and made available
  • Develop and deploy framework application solutions in accordance with GIS Program goals
  • Develop additional opportunities for GIS investment in accordance with the goals and priorities of the county-wide GIS program.

Who we are

The Enterprise GIS group is charged with:

  • Planning the development, maintenance and promotion of the County-wide Geographic Information Systems (GIS) program aligned with the internal and external agency stakeholders' business needs.
  • Developing and providing enhanced access to high quality geographic information in a timely manner, meeting customers' needs.
  • Supporting County GIS users in the planning, development, deployment, and maintenance of creative, technically sound, enterprise-wide, and cost effective approaches for addressing their business needs.
