Operationalizing spatial data and analytics

Government agencies are increasingly leveraging spatial and analytics to help make more informed decisions. Too often though, a lack of modernization creates backlogs of data maintenance, hinders integration of key business systems and impacts recruitment of incoming staff. This session will showcase examples of Esri solutions that are part of the day-to-day workflows for both internal staff and the public. Examples cross a variety of departments and include but are not limited to long range scenario planning, capital projects and public works, assessment and land records and public safety/emergency operations. Matt and Dan will talk through some of the solutions and customer examples to help you inspire and engage your respective organizations!

Local Government Team for Esri in Northern California and Northern Nevada​

Dan leads the local government team for Esri in Northern California, Northern Nevada, as well as state and local customers in Hawai’i. He has worked in and around the GIS profession for the majority of his 20+ year career. He holds a bachelors in geography from Oregon State University and a masters in geography from San Diego State University. He has worked for a variety of public, private and academic organizations, helping agencies transform how they do business through the science of geography and location intelligence. He has worked with all levels of government from federal to local.

Local Government Team for Esri in Northern California and Northern Nevada

Matt is a senior solution engineer, at Esri, helping local governments do amazing work with location intelligence using the Esri Geospatial Cloud.

Previously, Matt  deployed Enterprise GIS for the global US Navy Information Technology Center and created/managed the largest spatial database of agriculture crops data in the State of California.

Matt has two degrees in GIS from Sacramento State University and CSUN Northridge.
