GIS-enabled strategies for enhancing ecological and operational resilience

Midpeninsula Regional Open Space District (Midpen) has a regional environmental protection vision for the Santa Cruz Mountains and seeks to enhance ecological resilience through targeted land stewardship activities. Join us as we showcase how the enterprise GIS team uses geospatial technology to support a wide range of initiatives including wildland fire prevention, climate adaptation, forest health monitoring, species protection and integrated pest management. We’ll also touch on the importance of a tactical, sustainable, scalable and enduring GIS Program and our new approach to strategic planning.

Jamie manages the enterprise GIS team within Midpen’s Information Systems & Technology Department and directs geospatial technology implementation and adoption across the organization. She recently lead the completion of Midpen’s first GIS Strategic Plan, a business-driven roadmap to ensure GIS operations are smart, sustainable and resilient. Jamie received her MA in Geography from San Francisco State University and is a published cartographer and award-winning solution developer.
